Some news and notes picked up from this morning's news ...
The always quotable Antonio Pierce is requesting a new segment in NFL Films highlight films.
"Show the highlights of all the players we beat, crying, with that stupid look on their faces, saying, 'How did we lose?"
Darren McFadden ran a 4.33 in tennis shoes.
Rex Grossman and Kyle Orton's matching quarterback contracts are cute.
Couple interesting notes on the Packers running game. They are sticking with a zone blocking scheme, and there is a decent chance they'll draft yet another complement to Ryan Grant. I have my doubts, but that's not overly great news for Grant, Brandon Jackson, and Deshawn Wynn.
Perhaps they will get a thumper. The Packers were the worst team in the NFL in converting third-and-one and fourth-and-one combined.
Jerry Jones says we'll be surprised how Dallas adds a running back. Not great news for Marion Barber owners.
The Steelers placed the transition tag on Max Starks, but that doesn't mean they are especially likely to keep him.
The Redskins say they won't spend in free agency. We'll see. For them, "not spending" still could include at least one $10 million signing bonus. I have a strong feeling, just speculation, that D.J. Hackett winds up there.
