Inactive analysis
Troy Brown and Chad Jackson are among the notables for the Patriots. It would have been a shock to see Brown active, but this game will probably mark his final time in a NFL uniform.
Stephen Spach is inactive for the Patriots at tight end, which means they are only going with two true tight ends. This is a change from the other playoff games. It could indicate that the Patriots will run less power sets than the last two games, which isn't a surprise. An extra defensive lineman took Spach's spot.
For the Giants, Jared Lorenzen is the third quarterback, with Anthony Wright the backup. Sinorice Moss is inactive, which shows how far he's fallen in the Giants eyes.
The only real surprise is the announcement that Sam Madison will come off the bench, with Corey Webster starting at cornerback. Webster is likely to draw Randy Moss in a matchup that has to scare Giants fans. The Giants have five cornerbacks active.
Both teams seem to be prepared for a pass-heavy game.
