Crumpler gets dumped

I was initially surprised to hear that Alge Crumpler was released Friday. He's only 30, and he's been one of the two most consistent Falcons offensive players this decade, along with Warrick Dunn.
On further thought, the move makes a lot of sense. For two years, Crumpler has been injured or rehabbing. He managed to miss only two games, but his lack of offseason conditioning showed up in his play. He has occasionally been a vocal critic of the organization. He was Michael Vick's right hand man, and the Falcons are trying to change eras.
Atlanta did Crumpler a favor anyway. We don't know if he's fully healthy, but he'll have no shortage of suitors. I prepped some free agency rankings for next week, and my highest tight end was ... Ben Troupe. If Visanthe Shiancoe and David Martin get paid, so will Crumpler.
Any team looking for a receiving boost at tight end see what kind of shape Crumpler is in. Evan Silva suggested the Vikings, Bills, Seahawks, and Bucs as sensible options, and I agree. I'd throw in Carolina and New Orleans, two former division foes.
Crumpler will no longer get drafted in the top eight fantasy tight ends, but he won't be far below if he lands in the right situation.

Hopefully Jim Mora Jr. & Patrick Kearney are on the phone to him asap!
He make a great target running down the middle of the field up in Seattle.

panthers should pick him up. he would be a great receiving threat, and the panthers desperately need him. if they can get him + another receving threat (dj hackett)and a power back (derrick ward/micheal turner with ward being more likely) the panthers will have a top offense next year.

The Dolphins who are in great cap shape would be a perfect fit as well. and they desperately need to upgrade at TE.

C'mon Rotoworld. Crumps and Rod Coleman don't have to pass through waivers during the off-season because they're vested veterans.
