Bruce isn't done yet

Isaac Bruce, 35, was released today by the Rams. In most cases, that would spell the end of his relevancy in the NFL. Bruce could be the exception.

His excellent play has been a pleasant surprise this month while I have reviewed tape for our draft guide. He was still beating single coverage (often drawing the best opposing defender) and was highly productive considering St. Louis' inconsistent offense. This was more about St. Louis' finances, and the fact Drew Bennett was the highest paid third receiver in the league.

Bruce has averaged 65 catches and 915 yards the last two years. Receivers his age are year-to-year propositions, but Bruce has shown little decline thus far. Look for his old coach Mike Martz to bring him to San Francisco to stabilize their wideout corps. His legendary run in with the Rams is over, but Bruce still has some Hall of Fame resume padding to do.

Hey LMossman, speaking of "colossal" mistakes. How about learn to spell assclown.

Great for somebody, bad for the Rams.. Bruce has been a staple of the St. Louis organization for how long?? True he's getting older but I don't see his expiration date anywhere in the near future (at least for another couple seasons). He's still a presence on the field and a weapon on anyone's team. Send him over here to the 9ers! We'll put him to good use :P

As a Ram's fan, I am sad that this day has arrived. However, the Rams have many decisions to make, and they did offer Bruce $3million to stay with the team. Not chump change. Sometimes, it's time for a change. I wish Bruce the best, he was a class act and will be missed.

A very sad day for Rams fans everywhere. Bruce will probably have two to four more productive years. Please note, the Rams will now pay more money for less production. Issac wanted retire as a Ram. Management wouldn't bite the bullet and let Bennett go. Oh well, we'll have the number one pick next year and maybe they're pick a WR 1/3 as productive as Ike!

Do you like cheese?

Bruce was great in his day, but just like Tori Holt, he immediately falls after catching the ball whether there is a defender around or not. What happened to yards after the catch? They were 28th in the league this past season. The Rams need some receivers who can get the ball down the field. Not someone who is worried about the big hit.

I am not a rams fan but i think they made a huge mistake. The Rams are going nowhere fast and they will be rebuilding for the next 5 seasons. Good luck Bruce and by the way the Browns would love to have you on our team.
