Bruce isn't done yet

Isaac Bruce, 35, was released today by the Rams. In most cases, that would spell the end of his relevancy in the NFL. Bruce could be the exception.
His excellent play has been a pleasant surprise this month while I have reviewed tape for our draft guide. He was still beating single coverage (often drawing the best opposing defender) and was highly productive considering St. Louis' inconsistent offense. This was more about St. Louis' finances, and the fact Drew Bennett was the highest paid third receiver in the league.
Bruce has averaged 65 catches and 915 yards the last two years. Receivers his age are year-to-year propositions, but Bruce has shown little decline thus far. Look for his old coach Mike Martz to bring him to San Francisco to stabilize their wideout corps. His legendary run in with the Rams is over, but Bruce still has some Hall of Fame resume padding to do.

Surely the Rams have to address the WR situation now...right? Holt isn't getting any younger (or healthier) and Bennett was a flop last year.McMike was a bust too. This can only mean bad numbers for Bulger and SJax unless the Rams address their needs.

Wow, just like the Rams to let a future hall of famer go. Bruce has given his all to the Rams and this is what he gets in return. One thing the Rams have proven is that they have no loyalty to players who have contributed so much. Look at what they did with Kurt Warner. I have been a Rams fan for 30 years and I am truly disappointed. Good luck to Bruce, he will contribute immediately to his new team.

The Rams continue to disappoint me. I live here in St. Louis but I'm glad I'm a Cowboys fan. Hopefully the people running the show up in the head offices over there will realize what they are doing.

I have been a Rams fan for almost 40 years. Releasing Bruce is the most dissapointing thing they have done yet. I understand it's a business but would the Bears have even considered releasing "sweetness"? Not that Bruce compares to W.P. but you get my point.

We'll, they already showed the prototype of how they treat players that always came through for them with how they treated Marshall Faulk. I always thought he was disrespected for all the accomplishments as well.

Rams are done. I'm done with the Rams. They have totally alienated the people who made them great and one by one have gotten rid of the people who made them great. I no longer support the Rams. It make no sense to me to pay a 3rd stringer more than starter who had proved over and over again how great he is. Stupid! Good Luck Isaac Bruce. I hope you prove to the Rams organization what a collosal mistake they've made.
