Year End BustWatch

It's time for the final edition of everyone's favorite running segment that got lost in the shuffle sometime in November: BustWatch!

As always, BustWatch is based on a highly subjective combination of expectations, performance, pain inflicted to owners (especially me), and what I ate for lunch. I don't love including injured players on the list, but a player that combines terrible play with injuries is fair game. Let's start with the guys who didn't make the final top ten.

Steve Smith – Smith was taken first at wideout in many leagues, and was undeniably a huge disappointment. That said, he wound up with over 1,000 yards and seven touchdowns. 36% of his fantasy output came in the first two weeks, but he didn’t kill you as much as some others.

Darrell Jackson - He only doesn’t rank higher because we saw a huge decline coming. Still, no one saw 497 yards coming.

Alge Crumpler- In a year where nearly every TE1 pick worked, Crumpler ate up a lot of empty space.

Todd Heap - See above.

Brandon Jackson - Remember that big Morency/Jackson debate in the preseason, with DeShawn Wynn as the darkhorse?

Thomas Jones- Escapes the top-ten because he managed to put up 1,336 total yards, almost exactly the same as last season.

Vincent Jackson - Super sleeper that never woke up. Not quite hyped enough to make the top-ten list, but he was a wasted WR3 selection for a lot of teams.

Other Honorable Mentions: Philip Rivers, Matt Leinart, J.P. Losman, Javon Walker, LaMont Jordan, Santana Moss, Ravens Defense, Lee Evans.

Back with the top ten later today.

What about Alexander and Larry Johnson, both top 5 RB's coming into this year.

They are undoubtedly in the top 10, perhaps they are the top 2. I wouldn't be surprised.

It sure was fun to go from 1st to last in my keeper league with busts like:

Marc Bulger, Todd Heap, Larry Johnson, Frank Gore, Javon Walker, Philip Rivers and the Baltimore Ravens D all on my team.

I am assuming the ones that werent already mentioned will make the top 10.

What about Vernon Davis? he was hardly any better than Alge Crumpler and was hyped a lot before the season.

Imagine my surprise to have the #1 pick. I took LT but was then shocked to see Steve Smith and Chad Johnson on the board with my 2,3. Well I ended up winning the league but only after i was smart enough to sit Smith and the pure flop Bulger. Thank you Kurt Warner, you were my only hope!
