Tough week for the Titans

What a miserable week for the Titans after making the playoffs Sunday night.

* LenDale White's grandmother passed away, and his knee is ailing.

* Their starting tight end, Bo Scaife, is now out for the season with a lacerated liver.

* A starting wideout Roydell Williams suffered a rare practice injury, breaking his ankle on Wednesday.

* Their quarterback started a small controversy, aided by Rotoworld Grand Poobah Rick Cordella, when he raised the possibility of collusion during a radio appearance.

* Vince Young didn't practice fully all week, and will officially be a game-time decision. Even though it would be a shock if he sat.

*

I never count a Jeff Fisher team out. They max out their ability, and have already made it further than they should have. I desperately want the Titans to put a scare into San Diego, but I fear that all the important action of the weekend will be over by halftime of Sunday afternoon's game.

While I'm incorrectly predicting games, I also like the Redskins and Jaguars to win on the road, with Tampa holding off the Giants.

Being a Titans fan in Tennessee, I agree on your Jeff Fisher comment. I cant tell if he pulls all this stuff out of his ass, or if he really is some sort of genius. Im pretty sure he could throw you, Gregg, in there and youd at least have a 750/4TD season. What kind of TD celebration would you do Gregg? Anyways, these injuries dont scare me...Ben Troupe is probably the most athletic offensive threat that we have, and he never even plays. All the TN WR's have the same skill level, its just a matter of who gets more downs. People here in TN wont cry if Collins starts, im so over VY thinking his recievers are 9 feet tall.

Picksburgh will win.

Big Ben vs. Gerrad?

Don't make me laugh!

I almost agree with you DRM. I think a lot of people forgot that the Steelers are kinda good. It also upsets me that by week 15 all the analysts were saying "now ive got a feeling for this Jags team, they'll sneak up on you"....like the Jaguars were ever bad? However, I dont think they are built for playoff football. They're the kinda team thats beating you by 3 or 7 the entire game, and they just grind it out. If a team strikes early (which pitt can do), I dont see the Jaguars being a team that can play catch up. Big Ben vs. Gerrard is very argueable, but im so hesitant to jump on the Gerrard thing like everyone else has. I want to see him take control of a game and bring his team back when theyre down by 14. We've seen Ben do that.

And Gregg, to your playoff picks...being the casual gambler, im choosing not to bet on any of these games. They all scare the hell out of me. The Titans can win any game. The Chargers can beat them by 3 TD's, but I could just as easily that all the right cards are dealt to the Titans regardless of any setbacks. The Titans have too many intangeables to bet on them. I hate the Giants Bucs game. Garcia is a blindside away (which is very likely considering the pass rush of the Giants) from being out for the game. I also think the Bucs are terrible...I know their DVOA is good, but when I watch them...they just dont seem very good. I wont bet on the skins game either. Seahawks at home is brutal, but the emotionally charged Redskins could do anything now...another "betters beware". Like you Gregg, I really want the Titans to win...not just because im a fan, but because I think it would show the world of difference between a good coach and a bad coach. I think the Chargers, Steelers, Seahawks, and Giants win.

I would do the old Merton Hanks Chicken Neck dance.

I remember always trading for hanks in madden 96. I think he was like 98 overall. Is your neck that long Gregg?
