Henne the number two QB?
It's important to find sources you can trust. I can't watch college tape, so it's best to pick the best Draft expert or three that you trust, and listen closely to what they have to say.
I've been a Mike Mayock guy since he debuted on NFL Network, and am still in the bag. No one is perfect, but I think he knows what the NFL looks for, isn't afraid to make his own opinion, and watches tons of tape to back it up. That's why I took serious note when Mayock surprisingly ranked Chad Henne his number two quarterback heading into this week. Here was his top five.
1. Matt Ryan, BC – Sr.
2. Chad Henne, Michigan – Sr.
3. Brian Brohm, Louisville – Sr.
4. Andre’ Woodson, Kentucky - Sr.
5. Joe Flacco, Delaware – Sr.
Notes: Mayock thinks Henne can make all the throws with touch and accuracy. That no one "spins" it better. He was banged up a lot at Michigan, so he can look a lot worse depending on what tape you watch.
Mayock was right on early in the process when it came to another Senior Bowl quarterback - Jay Cutler. Mayock had him ranked first among his quarterbacks when people were mostly saying he wasn't a first-round pick. We'll see if he's right on Henne.
Flacco has a huge arm, but isn't used to taking snaps under center. It sounds like he's had a mixed two days so far.
