A ray of hope for L.J.?

The last of the Dick Vermeil coaches in Kansas City are gone, which isn't a big surprise. Someone has to pay for that miserable of an offense, and it wasn't going to be GM Carl Peterson unfortunately.
Former Jets and Chiefs coordinator Paul Hackett sounds like the leading candidate to take over, but that doesn't jibe with an interesting throw-away line in Jason Whitlock's annual must-read Chiefs grades.
Under Brodie Croyle, Whitlock writes, "The Al Saunders offense doesn’t fit Brodie’s skill set. Next year, the Chiefs will run Denver’s zone-block run game and bootleg pass game, which makes sense for Brodie."
And it makes sense for Larry Johnson, who is naturally a runner with great vision who makes one cut and goes. We'll see if Whitlock is proven right by watching the coaching hires in Kansas City over the next few weeks. If they go zone blocking, I'd be a lot more optimistic about an LJ rebound next year. The scheme could make up for some offensive line deficiencies.

Comments
LJ is the perfect bounce back candidate next season in my opinion.
He got off to a terrible start this season obviously but three out of the last five games he played this season he rushed for 112, 119 & 123 yards.
This news is potentially good news & will only help.

NFL team owners are looking for gimmicks. For example, Michael Vick is and was a gimm-mick!! Fast, agile indeed, but merely a young black college player who can think nothing but run and has no concept about "team" play. Likewise, young, offensive coordinators, ie, Norv Turner, was highly sought by the Redskins (cooke/kent) after Dallas won the superbowl..but Turner turned out to be deficient. Owners, esp owners like Arthur Blanke, should stick with hammers and nails and wear his 3 piece suits to board meetings, not the sidelines.

Permit me, but who designated the Dallas Cowboys as America's team? If the truth be known, they are the cocaine cowboys. Owner Jones is a wanna be and he needs to keep his butt off the sidelines. The present coach, Phillips, is soon to be found out. Jones will replace him shortly...probably after losing in the playoffs. The Patriots are truly America's team, whether they win, lose, or draw. A decent bunch of guys and owner/leadership.

Hate to tell you this but as far as America's Team - although they are the best team- The Patriots are America's most hated team.

Hear hear Scott. Hate to tell you Tony and the boys at F.O. but the Cowboys are still and will always be America's team no matter how much it chaps your yankee hide. Texas is now and always will be the cradle of football in America despite your ivy league statistical analysis. Patrilosers and Belicheat will never have more Superbowl wins than the 'Boys.
