Could storm derail Brady owners?

Long-time readers know that I try not to take weather reports too seriously. It's one of 100 variables that go into a game, and it's just as unpredictable as the rest. So are it's consequences.

With that out of the way, I have to admit that this weather outlook for the Patriots-Jets game scares the crap out of me as a Tom Brady owner. Far more than precipitation, wind hurts the passing game. And there are supposed to be gusts up to 40-50 MPH.

Rotoworld Grand Poobah Rick Cordella, who wrote Brady's blurb this morning, is something of a amateur meteorologist. He likes weather. When I let him know my skepticism, he explained to be that there are four models which predict weather. The models often don't agree, and then weathermen pick the one they currently trust the most. But when all four agree, it's usually predictable. And all four models agree on Foxborough's weather Sunday. It sounds like they may have snow turning to rain, with very windy conditions.

I own Brett Favre in my office league, and may play him over Brady depending on the conditions. But I wouldn't go overboard. Favre is ranked fifth, and I can't imagine sitting Brady for anyone out of the top-seven. I can't imagine sitting Randy Moss period. Even then, I need confirmation on Sunday morning of the exact conditions before I make the move.

Luckily, I will be able to lean on NBC's Tom Curran, who will join Tiffany and I Sunday morning on the Fix. He can give us the current conditions at the stadium. There are no magic answers here, and I'd hate to panic all owners into benching the best player in fantasy football. Information will be the key, and we'll try to give you as much as possible Sunday morning.

One thing I wanted to add. This isn't the only game that will be affected by the potential storm in the Northeast. Raw weather could affect Browns-Bills, Redskins-Giants, and Jaguars-Steelers. Dolphins-Ravens also could face tough conditions in Miami.

Hmmmm, cold wet windy? Load up on the under and the Jet's plus the points.

shanahan and all the broncos rbs are jerks.

Presumably weather or wind
issues in CAR and perhaps
TB too if in MIA no ?

Anyone knoe anything about the forecast for Sunday night? The DC radio guys seem to expect bad wether, and I need to choose from Gore, Jacobs and Plaxico for a flex spot.

Knowing has smart Belichek is, he's probably got the troops well prepared to face the Jets in any weather. I'm sure the Jets are preparing for the Patriots to come out running even more with the high winds, but instead Brady will probably end up throwing about 60 passes to throw the Jets off guard.

I have Drew Brees as my backup, so I'm going with him. Maroney might be the big winner here!
Nor-easter is not a passing QB's friend.

The way I look at this it will affect the throwing game definetly. A northeastern is bad and the pats are all passing this year. There running game is weak to say the least and have not even attempted the run in some cases. But that could also mean CB slipping and falling for open recievers. Fumbles, picks, int's. Jets defense will pressure brady. He may have a tough day. But his bad day is as good as some QB's good day. I would not rely on a monster game from any patriots as moss will be bottled up again. Like they said 2 weeks ago they know how to cover there recievers now. Welker is not going to be as effective in these conditions and that will hurt. His speed will see a decline and that is what he is all about. I am glad because i am playing a guy that has moss and welker. So even as a pats fan this makes me very happy because they will definetly not lose but may not put up huge fantasy stats in my opinion. Probabley just average good stats. I am lovin it like the a dollar double chez burg and a medium coke.
