Waiver Ranks

Fargas just won't go away

Patrick Dahl knocked out Waiver Wired today, so I thought I’d give some quick thoughts on the likely pickups this week. Here’s how I’d rank the running backs ...

1. Selvin Young – His receiving ability, in addition to some nifty footwork, could make him special. As a starter, he’s a RB2.

2. Ryan Grant – What a no-nonsense runner. The Packers have wanted him involved all along, and he quickly climbed the depth chart considering he was acquired so recently. Vernand Morency isn’t going to be the starter, and DeShawn Wynn can’t stay healthy. There is better upside here than people think. He could turn out to be a nice RB3.

3. Brian Leonard – Might start again, but has been mediocre.

4. Adimchinobe Echemandu- He’s probably only going to split carries, but the Texans aren’t getting anything from Ahman Green and Ron Dayne. Gary Kubiak’s comments on Ahman Green Monday were concerning. Houston is just throwing things against the wall, and Echemandu stuck last week.

5. Chris Henry, Titans – Back from the dead. He gives Tennessee a big-play threat LenDale White doesn’t. He’s a good handcuff for White owners at this point and I suspect he’ll get more carries over the season than Chris Brown.

6. Justin Fargas – Playing well in a contract year. But he’s probably stuck splitting carries on a poor offense.

7. Ron Dayne - Green injury helps him too.

Wideouts

1. D.J. Hackett – WR3.
2. Chris Henry – A nice piece for fantasy teams, but not a starter.
3. David Patten – Offense is alive again. Enough to make the secondary guys valuable. Patten is the closest thing to a number two there.

Quarterbacks

1. Kellen Clemens
2. Sage Rosenfels
3. Brooks Bollinger

I have no value unless Portis gets hurt.

Where would you insert the following into your rankings, Gregg?

RB: Betts
WR: K. Walter, I. Bruce, James Jones, D. Bennett

All are available in my league and I need to make some changes. Thanks.

Would you consider dropping Lendale White for S. Young? Does Young have that much upside? I already have Parker, Jacobs and K. Jones.

I would put Betts fourth at RB.

LenWHALE sucks...

what a fat mofo.

Gregg,

What do you think of Young in goal line situations? I thought this was a weakness for him MOnday night.

Gregg,

Would you trade Maroney for Boldin? My RBs are Maroney, Westbrook, Young, Keith, and Ward. My receivers are Chambers, Curry, Jennings, and C. Henry.

Thanks.
