Typical Alexander
The Monday Morning Afters are up, with most of my thoughts on the Week 7 action.
I touched on Shaun Alexander's struggles briefly, but wanted to mention the conversation he had with Mike Holmgren on the sideline late in the game. It's what used to make Alexander a great fantasy option, but an overrated NFL player.
Alexander was frustrated by his personal struggles (19-41-0) despite the blowout Seattle win. He wanted to get back into the game to pad his stats in garbage time instead of resting. This was about his numbers, not about helping the team to win.
Alexander has 107 rushing yards (2.4 per-carry) over the last three weeks. Mike Holmgren doesn't have a lot of options in the rushing game, but you can bet he'll examine them closely in the bye week. I bet this is Alexander's last year as a primary carrier. What do you think?

I think next season will be a RBBC situation.
Seattle should follow the lead of the majority of teams and rotate a couple of guys.
The problem is I don't think Seattle has that guy on their roster than could be a running mate with Alexander.

They may look to draft Steward (Oregon) at the end of the 1st round and work him into the lineup with Alexander next season, much like they did with Watters years ago. Upside with Weaver or Morris is limited.

Gregg, I think ur crazy. You said in a different post that the cream always rises to the top. Holmgrem may not like Alexander but he knows the dude is still a solid back which is why he took him out of the game yesterday. Alexander may be having a crappy season but Seattle is a better team then they've showm and I suspect that when we hit weeks 13, 14 etc. Alexander will be back to his regular 125 yard, 2 TD self.

I said go with the talent you believe in. I don't believe in Alexander anymore and didn't before the season either. He just hasn't been the same player since 2006 started and it's not coming back. It happens to everyone eventually.

a 30 year old rb can't flatten his wheel and expect to come back.
stick a fork in him.
it was one of the few predictions i was right on...

btw, the other one was ahman green. running backs over 30 can't perform in this league.

TRAM - if you think Alexander EVER resumes being a 100 yd/game multiple TD threat, YOU my friend are the one who's crazy.
