Sell High: Ben Watson

During the summer, I warned about drafting Donte Stallworth too early because of New England's spread the wealth offense. He has 13 targets for 115 yards on the season.
Another player suffering side effects from the Randy Moss and Wes Welker show is Ben Watson, who has one less target than Stallworth (12) in four games. In three of the games, Watson has been targeted only twice. I'd trade him while you can.
In standard scoring, Watson's somewhat fluky three touchdowns helps him to rank sixth among tight ends. He's No. 23 in targets behind luminaries such as Visanthe Shiancoe and Kris Wilson.
Watson will score a few more touchdowns and is bound to have a big game, but I see a lot of two-catch, 15-yard outings in this season. The Patriots are throwing less because they have big leads, and their outrageous efficiency will have to decline as the weather gets colder. I would try to flip Watson for another top-ten tight end before it's too late.

Where do you think Watson ranks compared to Cooley, who has even fewer catches per game to this point? I know you were high on him to start the year. Have your opinions changed, or is he worth targeting?

Way ahead of you -- traded Watson for Reggie Bush right before Deuce got hurt. Timing couldn't have been better.

Who in the hell trades a 1st or 2nd round RB for a TE??? Especially a TE not named Gates?
If all the guys in your league are like that, you should have a cakewalk.

I think Cooley will pick it up. Like Watson, he's got lucky with touchdowns but I think the receptions will come.

The Saints won't trade Bush for Watson, but they could use a kicker! Mare missed an 18 yarder that could have won the Carolina game. Can anyone spell V-A-N-D-E-R-J-A-C-K ?????
