Should Javon Walker be dropped?

Profootballtalk.com reports that league sources believe Javon Walker's knee injury is possibly worse than advertised. That makes sense based on a few factors.
1. Mike Shanahan usually spins things very positive. He admitted he didn't know for sure if Walker would return this season.
2. Walker has been hurt for a month. Hindisight is 20-20, but the Broncos did everything possible to avoid this surgery at all costs. Walker initially guaranteed he wouldn't miss any time. They hoped the inflammation in his knee would go down, but it didn't happen during the bye week. It appears he suffered a setback on Wednesday.
3. Walker had ACL surgery on the knee in 2005, then follow-up surgery that offseason. Profootballtalk says Walker might not be far away from requiring microfracture surgery.

I wouldn't drop Walker in fantasy leagues, but it's a reasonable question. Wait for the surgery and more news to leak out over the next week out before making any decision. Maybe he'll be back in a month, maybe not this season. It looked like Walker was going to improve this season after his first two huge weeks, but it could wind up being his second lost season in the last three.

Brandon Marshall sees his value spike a bit in Walker's absence, although he'll receive the attention of a top wideout. Selvin Young and Tony Scheffler could also get more involved in the offense as receivers. Brandon Stokley will start, but he hasn't made much of an impact with Walker out the last few weeks. I'd let someone else grab him.

Reminder: 1) Don't draft post knee surgery guys 2) if you do make sure he's played 2 seasons since the surgery

Surgeon says Week 13 return. Is he droppable now?

if he's back by week 13, he's back for the fantasy playoffs.
if your team looks like some of mine, then you don't have room for any more injured meatbags on the bench. if you have room on the bench, i'd keep him. he was dropped in 2 of my leagues and retained in the other 2.
personally, i like to snag injured guys that other people cut loose, in hopes that they recover faster than expected. i'm all about stashing players that have the potential to go off at playoff time, when enough bench space is available of course.
