Expect Maroney to be game-time call
Laurence Maroney owners hoping to learn about his status will probably have to wait until Sunday morning. The new injury report policies hoped to clarify injury matters, but the Patriots are likely to list Laurence Maroney as questionable and having "limited participation" in practice all week, just like last week.
Whether teams are covering up anything or not, the reality is that many players genuinely don't know their availability until Sunday morning. So how can fantasy owners?
The good news this week is that New England kicks off at 1PM Sunday. You'll know before kickoff whether to use Maroney or Sammy Morris. Ahman Green and Todd Heap look like two other possible game-time calls.

Does anyone else think this smells like a rbbc all season?
Over his one plus seasons in the league Maroney hasn't showed he can stay healthy for long periods of time.
Fantasy wise it sucks but NE seems to see the big picture.

Yeah, I'm getting really scared about that as well. I drafted him at 11th and felt like it was a steal. I didn't hear much buzz about Sammy Morris during the off-season. That's the worst part! I woulda definitely downgraded him if there was even a hint of RBBC and taken a McGahee-type character. My only hope is that they're easing him into the featured spot. Just doesn't seem too Patriots-like to have 1 premiere 30+ carries runner. That's what's freaking me out.

I said it before and I'll say it again, this reeks of Duce Staley/Jerome Bettis 2004 at worst and Willie Parker/Jerome Bettis 2005 at best.
I heard all along that Morris would vulture the short yardage situations and it makes sense for so many reasons:
1. Maroney has never carried the full-load and still gets nicked up more often than anyone likes to see.
2. For all his great running moments, he gets caught in the backfield for no gain or a loss way too often.
3. Sammy Morris is a great short yardage runner.
I had bad vibes about Maroney's fantasy usefulness and they are coming true now. That's a real shame too because anyone who lists "wash u ass" as one of his favorite quotes is someone I want to root for and see successful.

Never carried the load? The guy's been in the league one year and came onto a team with an above-average proven RB. Almost every great RB didn't "carry the load" their rookie year.

Speaking of Game Time decisions..with Travis Henry and Addai hurting and a bye in 6, wouldn't it make more sense to sit them out and let them heal? ...besides i have selvin young and kenton keith on my bench and lost my studs to injury!
