Catching up with Priest

I'm not sure what to make of Chris Mortensen's report that Holmes could eventually get 15 touches a game, but I'd rather own Holmes than Kolby Smith as a LJ handcuff. Here's the play-by-play of Holmes' first game back.

First Quarter
1-10-KC-30 Huard pass to Holmes for a loss of 6 yards
Third Quarter
1-10-OAK-11 Holmes run for no gain
Fourth Quarter
1-10-KC-31 Holmes runs for three yards
2-7-KC-34 Holmes runs for eight yards
1-10-KC-43 Holmes runs for a loss of 2 yards

Nothing inspiring there, but it's a good sign that Holmes was trusted to pick up a first down in a key spot late in the game. He got to the outside well on that eight-yard run and gave Larry Johnson a much-needed break.
In 12-team-by-15 man roster leagues, I'd only pick him up if I owned Johnson or was thin at running back. He'll be a third-down back on a poor offense, but Johnson represents a significant injury risk.

Isn't it nice to see an old favorite back on the field though.
I for one am looking forward to seeing what he can do with a chance if and when Johnson goes down....and no I'm not bothering to give him a roster spot.

I guess its nice to see him back, because the offense in KC its baaaad, but what I think that more neded than have Holmes back it is a change on the playbook, they are so predictable, and sometimes when they want to risk and surprise, they come up with a run up the middle on 3rd and 8. Also, something that they have not done is to get LJ more invloved on the passing attack, in the last game they look to, but before that LJ was inexistent. For last, competence is good, so LJ should step up, and Priest will be LJ best handcuff, no more. Thanks

I think its funny that we like to criticize teams like Kansas City and their play calling, when ultimately, predictable or not, they're winning games. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that kinda the point of the game? If it stops working, then fix it, but why mess with an approach that has you in first place in your division?

I agree, they are winning games but that is because of their defense, the offense needs to be fixed NOW (that was my point originally). They have 14.6 PPG (5th worst in the league and 2nd in the AFC thru 8 weeks) do you think isnt broken?, and that average includes defensive TD (at least one), so I guess I made my point.
