Bad Advice

Don't anger Steve Smith by benching him
The worst advice I have given all year on Fantasy Fix Live was telling a caller to consider benching Steve Smith Sunday with Vinny Testaverde likely to start.
I had visions of the last Vinny's last sudden relief start, his first outing for the Jets in 2005. He could barely handle the center-snap exchange. He didn't throw a touchdown in his first five appearances that year.
But Vinny looked solid and Smith was enjoying a fine day even before his 65-yard score to cap the afternoon. Smith has been feast or famine this year, but he's on pace for over 1,300 yards and 16 scores.

Comments
Yeah I read your comments about benching him, wanted to, but I couldn't because he is Steve Smith. I figured Vinny couldn't be any worse than David Carr. Oh monster week for me: Romo, AP (Vikings), LaDanian, Kevin Curtis, and I still got Jacobs tonight!

Hey Gregg -- How about a comment somewhere on Chris Henry, who is nearing his return to the field. Worth a pickup? Big upside pickup for the stretch drive/keeper leagues? Help me out!

In a league I shouldn't even be contending I have broke out with 4 weeks straight of wins.
And mostly I do it by gut feeling and crafty Waiver pick-ups and rotoworld.
But, cutting to the chase.
Studs are Studs.
A recomendation to bench Steve Smith made me cringe!
But I do recall Gregg saying *NOT* to bench Steve Smith to a caller after that when he was matched up with Roddy White.
In fact, you sounded like you waivered (no pun intended) at that point during the fix.
I wonder if the caller you gave the advice to bench Steve, heard you say "Start Steve" to the next caller and started him.

Well, well... look who's back!?
I can't believe you didn't give me credit for your winning streak.
