Welcome Back

Nice to see you again, Brandon. Mr. Jacobs was originally projected to miss 3-5 weeks, but he made a surprise appearance at practice Thursday in hopes of playing Sunday night.
The Ledger is all over the story, and it sounds like Jacobs wasn't just jogging without his shells.
We don't know if Jacobs will play or not, but it sounds like he'll be usable again in fantasy leagues by next week. The timing of the Giants game will make the situation uncomfortable for owners unless we know Jacobs' status by Sunday morning. Derrick Ward owners should also play close attention. Ward may still get half the carries, at least in Jacobs' first game back, but his value would greatly decrease.

welcome back indeed. through a combination of adequate depth and extreme luck, i have weathered the sh**storm of injuries in my 12 teamer and come out 3-0 (thank you antonio gates/plaxico burress).
with jacobs, then jackson down, jordan was my only respectable RB left (and who knows how long he will retain respectability?)
now, if plax's status gets any worse, things could get really glum. 3 weeks into the season and there's already been such a freaking bloodbath - i don't even wanna know how it's gonna be towards the end of the season, guys are generally getting worn down and beaten up.
it's total carnage already.

I think all of us Jacobs owners are curious to see how the G-Men handle the touches bewteen Jacobs & Ward.
I wouldn't be surprsed to see a 60/40 Jacobs to Ward ratio.
At least Jacobs gets the goal line carries!

I'm in a league with only 3 free waiver moves. I don't need to make a move, but the following are on the wire: Derrick Ward, Brian Leonard, Ron Dayne and Sammy Morris. Any thoughts on who is worth picking up, and in what order of preference? Thanks.

Nathan - Brian Leonard is worth picking up and maybe just maybe Derrick Ward for yardage only or in a PPR league going forward. Leonard will get the bulk of the carries until SJ comes back in 3+ weeks so if you are hurting for a RB right now then take him. Ward is a reach if you are really desperate or if you think Brandon Jacobs will make another appearance on teh injury report.

Thunder is the man, Leonard is probably gone by now. If Leonard is there, take him. Groin injuries (tears or strains) dont go away quickly, especially if you need to do a lot of running. I find it odd that people have any hope for BJ though. My (and many others who have actually played football in their lives) prediction pre-season was that BJ couldnt and wouldnt last as a feature back. Too big and too tall to be a sturdy RB in the NFL. He wont last this time around either as the best way to tackle a giant is to hit his knees. Dump him for whatever you can get as he is now no more than a younger version of Davenport or Duckett.
