Rex's Salvation?
Last year, when Rex Grossman was his lowest, the Bears went into St. Louis on Monday Night Football in Week 13 with Grossman's job very much on the line. Facing one of the worst defenses in the league, Grossman had a fine game and all was well again. He held on to the job for the rest of the year.
After this performance, Grossman probably only has one game left to save his job. And he gets the ultimate gift on the schedule next week: The Lions. If the Bears truly want a change, they will make it now. If they still believe Rex can recover, they will let him rack up stats against the worst secondary in the league and pretend everything is fine.
So Bears fans still out there ... Do you want to see Griese? Kyle Orton, anyone?

Comments
Not a Bears fan, but...what is Griese's fantasy value if he gets the job? Is he more valuable than somebody like Jason Campbell? Name a few QBs you would take him over.

Griese would not be a great option. Among the bottom 5-6 in the league, just like Rex.

It appears that everyone wants to blame only Rex for the debacle called an offense here in Chicago. The Bears O-line has been overrated now for several years. At first, the fans--and Moose Muhammad--faulted then rookie Kyle Orton. Then the fans got what they asked for--Rex Grossman. Now no one ever comments on the WRs dropped passes or their ineptitude at running through the route. Too many times the QB takes the blame for a struggling offense, which is partially fair since the QB receives the credit great offense. But the Bears fans should plead for, not only a better QB--and Greise is not the answer--but a more pass protecting O-line and some receivers who run their routes with conviction.

Kyle Orton. He's got natural QB skills, throws a very accurate pass and is head smart. He's not perfect but he is definitely UNDER-rated.
Griese is a disaster waiting to happen.
