Our Long National Nightmare is Over

Well, it looks like Lovie Smith will finally put Rex Grossman, his fantasy owners, and Bears fans out of their collective misery. It was only twelve months ago when Rex was being mentioned as a possible MVP candidate. Now Kyle Orton looks like a better option.
It all started going wrong on that Monday night game against Arizona, starting a 17-game stretch where Rexy threw 18 touchdowns, 27 interceptions, and six lost fumbles.
I don't expect Brian Griese to be a fantasy savior in Chicago, although he will post good stats this week against the Lions. Griese's upside is somewhere around Chad Pennington.
The only player truly hurt by the change is Bernard Berrian. Rex could throw the deep ball well and Berrian knows how to catch up with any pass. Griese is a dink-and-dunker, which means less vertical throws and more safe passes to Muhsin Muhammad and the tight ends.

Comments
Greg, I've been offered LJ/Kitna for Jordan/Bulger. Should I pull the trigger on the deal? Thanks in advance.

More important to Bears fans, limited as he may be, Griese knows what it means to manage a game. He has the common sense to realize when you have a great defense, you value possession of the ball and you don't have to make the big play on every down.

stephen, i'm with you.
the comment section on this blog (through no fault of gregg's) isn't about general fantasy knowledge, and you only get a few people who want to talk on a high level.
most of the people want to know whether they should start brandon marshall or james jones, and it's annoying as hell for those of us who want to talk fantasy, and not just ask about our teams.
i call it "blog for one." because nobody else in the world cares about that particular person's stupid trade conundrum...

Gregg - you should create a permanent blog post for people to ask start/sit and trade questions.
That would limit the annoying flow of comments that have nothing to do with the particular story from guys who just want to know information about their own team.

I hear ya Matt... I've felt the same way. They have moderators for that very reason on chat boards.
The thing that kills me is when a guy asks between two or three RBs or two or three WRs. IF YOU JUST LOOK AT THE GOAL LINE STAND RANKINGS IT TELLS YOU!!!!!!
I'm convinced some guys need the "personal attention" of being replied to and it makes them feel all warm and fuzzy.

Actually, if you'll notice, I was the first one to post under this topic. The only reason I did so, is because Greg often answers questions here. The only "substantial" post below me was the one about the bear. The rest are just the people who go from blog to blog looking for something to complain about. So, if you want to have a "high level" fantasy conversation, then go ahead and have one. Scroll your screen past my post if it bothers you that much. Besides that, just mind your own business.

A contrarion!
Yes, you were the first to post under the topic, something that had absolutely NOTHING to do with the topic and only something relevant to YOUR team. Something NO ONE else gives two shits about.
Our point is simple, the blog has become a festival for those who can't make up their own minds and seek advice from Gregg and there has got to be a better place for that. Thus, why I suggested a blog entry for that purpose alone.
I'm afraid those of us who do read here daily care about what it is that we see, are minding "our business" and would prefer NOT to see yours.
