Worst Draft Decision Ever?
Last Thursday, I witnessed the worst fantasy football draft decision I've ever seen. It happened in a league that I'm participating in for work. Tiffany Simons, Superhuman Intern David Bandermark, and I are representing NBCSports.com in the league.
It's the tenth and eleventh round turn, and one of the teams that is run by people that don't read Rotoworld is on the clock. With their first pick, the team takes Nate Kaeding. Groans erupt from the crowd. Way too early from a kicker.
Then the unthinkable happens. With their next pick, they take ... (drumroll) ... Jeff Wilkins. Silence. Shudders. Bile.
I didn't know whether to laugh, cry, throw something at the owners, or light up a cigar.
After much debate, the owners have been allowed to stay in the league and are recovering well.
It got me thinking: What's the worst decision/moment you've ever seen at a draft?

This one is easy. Last year, in the second round (2.4) a guy picked Dominick Davis, Houston Texans. Davis had already suffered the knee injury a week earlier that would keep him out for the year. Not a hugely competitive league but there were plenty of healthy running backs left

Last year, 1st round pick #3 was Daunte Culpepper. I happily drafted LT with 4 and won the league

Peyton in first round, Romo in the fourth. He followed this up picking 2 kickers.

I'm in a dynasty league that is in it's 28th year. Our drafts are rookies and anybody else who isn't on a roster. We've got so many draft stories it's hard to know where to begin. But I'll always remember a draft long ago where somebody cut Scott Brunner (QB, Giants) before the draft to open up a roster spot (we have roster limits), and about a half hour later, this guy picks Brunner with his #1 pick. He was out of the league a couple years later.

We do a free league every year. This year we let in a new guy (who is new to the league but not fantasy football). This guy talks MAD trash for nearly a month leading up to the draft. He tells people that for $5 a round he'll help them draft a championship team. At the #3 pick overall, he selects.... Willis McGahee.
As far as my own draft, I don't know whats worste, the fact that I picked Manning at 1.7, or the fact that Westbrook was still there for me at 2.4. To say I'm happy with my team is a bit of an understatement.
Pretty sure that guy could have gotten McGahee at 2.8.

Well - the same owner in our longtime league has drafted retired players in the last 12 years. Specifically Art Monk and James Lofton....never laughed so hard in my life. You gotta have a whipping boy for each league.

I joined a public league to get a draft in before my regular league drafted so I would be more prepared. Tony Romo went 3rd overall and Vince Young went 5th overall. Those two oweners stuck to the basic NFL.com board after that. weird.
