Worst Draft Decision Ever?
Last Thursday, I witnessed the worst fantasy football draft decision I've ever seen. It happened in a league that I'm participating in for work. Tiffany Simons, Superhuman Intern David Bandermark, and I are representing NBCSports.com in the league.
It's the tenth and eleventh round turn, and one of the teams that is run by people that don't read Rotoworld is on the clock. With their first pick, the team takes Nate Kaeding. Groans erupt from the crowd. Way too early from a kicker.
Then the unthinkable happens. With their next pick, they take ... (drumroll) ... Jeff Wilkins. Silence. Shudders. Bile.
I didn't know whether to laugh, cry, throw something at the owners, or light up a cigar.
After much debate, the owners have been allowed to stay in the league and are recovering well.
It got me thinking: What's the worst decision/moment you've ever seen at a draft?

I have what is easily the worst/funniest moment of any draft in history.
There is a guy in all of my "hometown friends" leagues. He is not the best player, but we keep him around for entertainment/contribution. A few years back in a fantasy football draft he began repeatedly selecting players that had already been taken in about the 10th round...by the 12th round I was very frustrated with him and began just sying thw word "GONE" after each pick he made. Finally, the following occured:
Friend: Jerry Rice
Me: GONE!
Friend: Terrell Owens
Me: GONE!
Friend: Shawn Dawkins
Me: GONE!
Other Friend: YOU TOOK HIM!!!
...not only had "Friend" selected Shawn Dawkins who at the time was terrible, but he had tried to select him again!!!

Back in 2000, first round of an 8-team conference draft, a young fella who is pretty sure he knows everything takes Carl Pickens with his first choice. We still talk about that one. This year the worst was Craphonso Thorpe in the 8th round. Or an owner taking Brees and Bulger with his first two picks. Or another owner who took no QBs until the last two rounds, and is now starting Grossman.

Yesterday, a guy took Vinatieri in the fourth rd and backed him up w/ Wilkens in the fifth. The whole room was rolling.
