Worst Draft Decision Ever?
Last Thursday, I witnessed the worst fantasy football draft decision I've ever seen. It happened in a league that I'm participating in for work. Tiffany Simons, Superhuman Intern David Bandermark, and I are representing NBCSports.com in the league.
It's the tenth and eleventh round turn, and one of the teams that is run by people that don't read Rotoworld is on the clock. With their first pick, the team takes Nate Kaeding. Groans erupt from the crowd. Way too early from a kicker.
Then the unthinkable happens. With their next pick, they take ... (drumroll) ... Jeff Wilkins. Silence. Shudders. Bile.
I didn't know whether to laugh, cry, throw something at the owners, or light up a cigar.
After much debate, the owners have been allowed to stay in the league and are recovering well.
It got me thinking: What's the worst decision/moment you've ever seen at a draft?

Comments
Phil Dawson in the 1st round.
The owner would not directly anser why he picked him.
The weird thing is even if he thought he needed a kicker in the 1st round why wouldnt he take a better kicker ?

You see lunatics all the time in the public leagues, especially the Yahoo ones.
In 2003, though, doing an auction with friends of varying skill level we had to talk one of the guys into dropping his bid for martin grammatica down to $15 from $25. I think this guy spent like $25 on his defense, too that year. The best part of that league, though, was getting all 3 AFC pro bowl RBs through the auction (Portis, Jamal, and priest- all this in the year LT had 100 receptions and didn't make the pro bowl)

I witnessed a live draft this past weekend where the self-proclaimed "guru" of a host took DeShaun Foster with the 49th overall pick.

I was in a live draft this weekend and team 6 took Peyton Manning first. A bit of a stretch but whatever. The crazy part is he takes Deuce McAllister on the way back. The Bears Defense on the way up and then get this the Pat's D on the way back.

Most likely the most pitiful single draft out of a fantasy team i have ever witnessed, my friend did absolutely no research for our draft and it showed as his picks went as follows:
1. (11) Steve Smith
2. (14) Reggie Bush
3. (35) Antonio Gates
4. (38) Ahman Green
5. (59) Calvin Johnson
6. (62) Vince Young
7. (83) Santonio Holmes
8. (86) New Orleans (???)
9. (107) LaMont Jordan
10. (110) Neil Rackers
11. (131) Najeh Davenport
12. (134) Marty Booker

Two years ago, we had a guy in our league that drafted Nick Goings with the 8th overall pick.

We had a member of our league try to draft the Viking's Robert Smith with her 1st round pick in 2001.... The year he retired.
