Say Goodnight
Two rounds to go, although kickers and defense are all that's left for me. Here's a look at my team so far. Remember, 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DEF, and points-per-reception. It's a heavy WR league.
QB: Marc Bulger, Jason Campbell
RB: Willie Parker, Thomas Jones, DeAngelo Williams, LenDale White, Adrian Peterson (CHI), Najeh Davenport
WR: Reggie Wayne, Anquan Boldin, D.J. Hackett, Jerry Porter, Wes Welker, Maurice Stovall, Roddy White
TE: Jason Witten
It's definitely a PPR team, with players like Jones, Williams, Peterson, Boldin, Hackett, Welker, Witten, and Stovall who have more value than in standard-scoring leagues because of their high reception total. I surprised myself with a few wideout picks late, and somehow didn't end up with James Jones or Patrick Crayton, but I'm happy with the team overall. Which is usually a kiss of death.
I'm going to write up the whole draft on the site, but you can view the results here.
And you can tell me I'm an idiot now.

Greg, you're not an idiot for posting your draft thoughts round by round. I may be one for reading it all! Seriously, I drafted Williams AND Deshaun Foster as RB3 and RB 4 and passed on lots of ho-hum wideouts. Im hoping your hunch on Stovall and Curtis pan out for me!

60%G -
I broke my hand at work 2 days ago and am still "recuperating" (sitting around). Your mock was the perfect entertainment for the early evening.
I don't think you ever have to worry about coming across as an idiot on this blog. I think the majority of the people who read this blog have been doing so for a while (since before it had a ridiculous name that people seem to associate more with breakfast than a football maneuver), and have a good idea what to expect. No matter how pointless some of the analysis may seem, most of us are going to eat it up, because we love this stuff as much as you do. And for future reference, the link you posted did indeed allow me (us?) to follow along with your draft, as well as the league chat.
I know everyone has their favorites when it comes to analysts of any kind, but you are hands-down the best of the FF columnists I follow. Honestly, you're the only one whose opinions I actually give any credence to - I read the Y! Sports and CBS columns just to get a laugh (Behrens for Y! is alright, the others are tools).
So I say keep the mocks coming, as well as the incredibly in-depth analysis of the preseason. It's my third year on Rotoworld, and the third that I consider you guys the best in the biz.

I know you have been talking up Brandon Jacobs. If you were in a non-ppr league would you have considered taking Jacobs in the second?

Yes Wad I would have. In fact, I considered it in this draft. It was between him, Wayne, Brown. I played it a little safer with Wayne and didn't get lucky with Jacobs getting back to me.

Gregg sorry to say but you are not even close to winning with that team buddy! Bulger is stellar but it is just a matter of time before he goes down this season. He is injured alot and gets sacked to much! I know I have had him. Campbell drop worthy. I like willie parker but he has a knee injury already and they are probably saving him for the season but they are going to pass alot more this year and he may lose goal lines to barlow so he does not get his knee's to banged up. Goal line is where you get hit the most because they stack the line it is a possibility he is out in those situations. It is a long season.Thomas jones already banged up heis a tough guy! But he will be an injury guy all year long he is old. He was splitting load last year. He would worry me! Carrying the load and bears let him go for a reason! He got hit hard as a bear. He has alot of wear and tear. You have no true number 3 running back as I can see! Foster is damn good and will keep that job. White? peterson is good because benson will go down at some point but think wolfe will be in that mix if that happens! davenport barlow is better than him. He is always injured becasue he is an upright runner. Wayne is nasty! Boldin really good! The rest of your wide outs stink! Hackett may be most appealing but not sure he has what it takes! You are eiher a star or you are not! Porter you mine as well drop right now he is over rated! I love welker and could have value if stallworth and moss do not stay on field! Stovall when boston is passing you there has to be something wrong! White is on atlanta another dropper! Witten fell of face of the earth! He should be middle of the pack. I really think everyone takes defenses for granted! If you have 1 of the top 2 defenses that is like an upgraded reciever to the rest! It is about 70 points. Defense scores as much as a top runner. A good defense puts up atleast 10 points a week also! All in all I really believe you will be close to last place and up up trading your recievers to get a better runner!

Thanks Gregg!! This is VERY similar to a draft I have coming up. I even have the 7th pick. Very interesting. My only real beef with industry mocks is that, well, they are industry mocks. I think most drafts in "Everyman" leagues across America will probably look quite different (i.e. Peyton has NEVER made it out of the first round in any of my leagues...EVER.)
But, love your insight & your blog. Keep it up!!

Wow...after reading Jacob's rant I wonder what team he expected you to draft? Peyton, LT, SJax, S. Smith, Harrison, Ocho Cinco, Gates & Chicago's Defense?!?
You have a few holes in your team, but it ain't THAT bad!!
