Redskins RBs
Here's how the Redskins running backs are being drafted.
Clinton Portis - RB18, mid-third round
Ladell Betts - RB36, eighth round
Surprising developments here. Portis is falling, but not as much as one would expect. He is still being taken ahead of Thomas Jones and Brandon Jacobs. I am a risk taker, and can't get too carried away with this evaluation when I'd probably go for it in the fourth round.
Betts is the surprise. Somehow, his ADP is getting worse despite Portis' lost August. He's on the borderline between a shaky RB3 and a fantastic RB4. At the beginning of draft season, I didn't think it would be feasible to handcuff these two backs together. Considering how much Washington likes to run the ball, it's not such a bad idea at these prices.

My league drafted on Sunday and the defending champ was able to get C. Portis in Rd. 5 #47 overall.... 10 Team League. Guys like Edge, T. Henry, McGahee, and T. Jones were taken ahead of him.
I was able to get Betts in RD 12 #112 overall (purposely to trade him to the Portis owner later on...Got D. Bennett and C. Taylor for him. We only play 2 RBs and I have FWP and was able to get Ronnie Brown in RD 4 #32 w/ M. Barber III on the bench)
I still think that Portis should have gone higher and Betts should not have been there @ #112. I dont see T. Jones, W. McGahee, or T. Henry being more valuable then a "HEALTHY" (operative word) Portis...

Portis went Round 6 and Betts round 9 in my draft 10 days ago.

I drafted Portis (#34 overall) last Sunday in my league draft. I had a tough time deciding between Lynch, Roy William, and Portis at #34. In the end, I took Portis because he has more upside.
However, after picking DeAngelo Williams and Kitna with my next 2 picks I wish I had chosen Roy Williams instead to anchor my WRs.
When I heard Portis practiced yesterday I felt much better about drafting him.
Now if he can only stay healthy.

Portis RD 8 (unbelievable) in my draft last weekend. I nabbed Betts in RD14 as a RB5!! (also unbelievable)
People were obviously down on the 'Skins backs...on a different note, Donald Driver's injury allowed me to get him in RD8!! Suckers.

Saturday, in my 10 team 50/50 league, I was suprisingly able to cuff LT and Portis. Portis fell to 40 , Turner the burner to the 10th, and Betts to the 12th. Seems "that guy who steals your cuff" didn't come to my draft this year and I didn't miss him.

I like portis when healthy but not when he is injured! Betts will see alot of playing time simply because this is portis last season in washington. That will cut into his value right there. They are going to give betts alot of touches and see if he is there future. Portis has to much wear and tear on those tires. They over worked him! He is on the down side of his career. He will not last the season and will get injured again steer clear of him. I will say betts was good last season but will he do it again this year? Not sure he will. Just stay away from those guys. They have a rookie QB which they will pressure the line. I do not like either of them.

Just keep in mind that SOMEONE will be running the ball in Washington, if not Portis then Betts. They have a rookie QB and Joe Gibbs for a coach.
