Edwards, on the other hand, said Holmes was cleared to practice. But that a conversation with Holmes led Edwards to believe the veteran wasn’t ready.

So what the heck is going on? My guess is that the Chiefs don’t want to take Holmes off the PUP list because that means they will have to cut him or include him on the roster to start the season. And he’s not making the team. Either that, or Holmes just doesn’t want to play. That’s what Jason Whitlock of the Kansas City Star has said all along.
