Kenny Watson Redux
In my quest to continue writing about backup running backs no one really cares about, let's revisit last week's draft guide adjustment on Kenny Watson.
My original fixes look optimistic in retrospect, especially after reading that Quincy Wilson may be first in line to see an increased role.
Watson may be stuck in a third-down/special teams role regardless. One thing I preach about is trying to build uncertainty into projections. For example, rookies almost universally receive conservative projections because they have no pro experience to build off. History tells us that at least 1/2 will disappoint, so that uncertainty needs to built into projections.
With Watson, the uncertainty involves Wilson and a possible veteran to be named later that will be claimed on waivers. Expecting Watson to pick up all of Irons' number was unrealistic. We've taken away 25 carries and a few catches, which knocks Watson to RB57 in standard formats, and RB50 in PPR leagues. Watson is draftable, but not until very late.
