Good news for Thomas Jones, Willie Parker

Most training camp injuries are long forgotten by October. I suspect that will be the case with the injuries to Willie Parker and Thomas Jones.
Parker is healthy enough to play the final three preseason games for Pittsburgh. Missing a few weeks of practice in August certainly doesn't affect his projection. We did move Joseph Addai ahead of Parker recently for the fifth spot on our draft board, but that was only because Addai has such little downside.
Thomas Jones' injury has earned a lot of headlines, but now he's expected to return in 1-2 weeks from a calf strain. It's a slight concern that Jones will battle injuries after a career high 351 carries, including the playoffs. But adjusting his projection because of a minor camp injury would be an overreaction.

addai's got more downside than fwp? i think i gotta disagree. what downside do you see out of parker that you don't see out of addai?
i think that addai having never carried the load for a full season is a bit more downside than parker's lack of a passing game to compliment him.
i have the 5th pick in a redraft league, and i'm fairly confident both of these guys will be there (standard 1-4 at this point)... who do you guys like there?

Here's your answer Dibble. Pittsburgh's offense is more unknown and Willie hasnt caught many passes as you mentioned.
As a long time FWP owner, the up and down nature is frustrating. Half his games in his breakout year were 70 rushing yards or less, 5 under 50.

who is the common 1-4 then? I have seen all over after LT and Jackson
I've seen LJ go 3, 4, or much lower...seen Bush go 3 and lower...seen Gore go 3 or 4 and once 5...seen Addai go as high as 3 and as low as 7...it seems to me its a crap shoot after the 1st and second picks.

then again all mine are ppr so that may make it more a little different

gregg...
that makes sense i guess. i do love addai's chances as a pass catcher out of the backfield. even with a bad rushing offense, if a back can catch passes, it can really save a bad season (i.e. kevin jones last year).

yeah, i guess a common 1-4 might not be the right term this year, but what i'm seeing is:
1. lt
2. jax
3. gore
4. lj
i know some yahoos are putting s-alex in there, and some people are grabbing peyton... but those are the consensus 4 best fantasy players out there.
