Honeymoon over
The honeymoon ended around 11:30 PM last night at JFK, when I found out my bags were somewhere over the Great Lakes and we got to hang out at the airport for a few hours, and then enjoy a rare 30-minute wait for a cab past 1 in the morning.
But there's no need to focus on the negative. The wedding was awesome, as Tiffany Simons nicely documented on her blog post. It's hard not to be completely embarrassed about having a slideshow of it online.
Still, Tiffany captured two of my favorite things about the wedding. The ceremony probably checked in around a cool ten minutes and a good chunk of that was watching my wife Emika (strange to write) rock out to Wolf Parade down the aisle. Her decision and an amazing one. Then we got to the fun part, which is why everyone comes to weddings in the first place.
We headed up to Northern California to Big Sur for the honeymoon which was bombtastic and relaxing if too short.
A lot of people ask if I feel different and I can't say I really do. Once you get engaged, you are pretty much locked in. Now that's a mental adjustment, but one I was always confident about. Getting married means you finally get to have the party you've been planning for months and get back to normal. The next day, however, Emika and I were saying it'd be fun to just have another that night.
Now before this blog turns into too much of a Hallmark card, lets get back to football.
