Unofficial LB Times
Mike Mayock's top linebacker Jon Beason ran an unofficial 4.64 on the first forty. Other notables include Patrick Willis with a 4.49, Buster Davis ran a 4.67, and Paul Posluszny ran a 4.67. Willis running that time as an inside linebacker is huge. Here were some of the other top and notable times from Monday's linebackers ...
Antwan Barnes - 4.40
Quincy Black – 4.42
Tim Shaw – 4.43
Justin Durant – 4.51
Chad Nkang – 4.52
Zak Deossie – 4.53
David Harris – 4.53
Buster Davis - 4.67
Preston Burgess - 4.85
Jon Abbate - 4.98
Once again, these times are unofficial and could change within .05 or so when official.
Adam Carriker, the DE from Nebraska, had a ridiculous 4.18 in the short shuttle, which shows his short-area quickness. For a huge guy, he's got a lot of versatility and I don't think he'll make it past Pittsburgh in the first round if he gets that far. Shaw really helped himself today. He was a little more fluid and explosive than people expected. He can play DE and OLB, so teams like the Patriots and Jets should like them.
