More DB Winners
I posted my new column about Combine Winners and Losers, focusing on the offense.
I mentioned the elite names like LaRon Landry, Chris Houston, and Leon Hall in the last post, but other lesser names helped themselves Tuesday. Here's a few ...
Marcus McCauley, Fresno State - He ran an unofficial 4.33 forty. After a lost senior season, the physical corner is trying to rehab his image. Belichick and his disciples will get an advanced scouting report from their former coaching cohort Pat Hill.
Josh Wilson, Maryland - Mike Mayock loves this kid, so we do as well. He sounds like a smart, fluid player. His 4.39proved he's quick too.
Aaron Ross, Texas - Another natural playmaker with some questions about his speed. His 4.47 unofficially is fast enough. He looks like a first-rounder. His teammate Michael Griffin is huge, but ripped off a 4.45. He's got a chance to creep into the first round as well.
Eric Wright, UNLV - There are plenty of character questions about Wright after he had to transfer from USC. But Dick Vermeil and Deion Sanders were raving about his feet during drills and his 4.36 speed showed he has the measurables.
Sabby Piscitelli, Oregon State - 223 pounds, 4.44 speed.
Darren Stone, Maine - led the broad jump at 11 feet.
Eric Weddle, - Versatile player can do a variety of things as a returner, defenders, and receiver. His 4.48 speed surprised some people.
We'll wrap up the Combine coverage with some DB sliders later.
